Neil posted a review of Rose Volupté today on The Black Narcissus; he makes some interesting observations about the types of rose scents that are currently trendy in Japan. I’ve noticed over the years that Velvet Rose is popular with customers in Japan (though my customers are not the norm for the fragrance market since they are searching for niche). It’s true that I tend to favor rich, lush roses; roses in the garden are one of my favorite treats, so that bias undoubtedly comes through. 🙂
And today on The French Exit, Elisa included Rose Volupté in her list of top 12 roses. I see a number of my favorites on her list!
Thanks Neil and Elisa!
Some favorite rose scents of mine include Gucci’s L’Arte di Gucci (sadly discontinued), Francis Kurkdjian’s Lumiere Noire Pour Femme, Annick Goutal’s Rose Absolue, Creed’s Fleur de The Rose Bulgare, Mandy Aftel’s Wild Roses, Caron Parfum Sacré, Guerlain’s Nahema and Parure, and L’Artisan’s Drôle de Rose (am sure I’ll think of many more as soon as I hit submit!).
