Incense Pure is on the site now

written by Laurie March 28, 2010

Incense Pure is now available on the site in samples and bottles. I’ll send out a newsletter soon.

I’m working on Bouquet Blanc and a couple other projects as I can fit them in. We’ve had some pretty spring weather but it will be back to rain again tomorrow and this week. I did get the first few roses blooming in the garden the last few days though — some deeply fragrant red climbing roses. Yum. 🙂

Edited to add: I sent a newsletter out late Sunday night (28th), so those who signed up after that won’t get one for a little while. I don’t send them very frequently, but I will send another when Bouquet Blanc is done and when the new bottles are available.

Got my Incense Pure sample last night, it’s amazing. Nice and potent the way I like it. 🙂

Can’t wait to sniff Bouquet Blanc! I very much like the idea of the oakmoss, vetiver, etc. in the base. It really “grounds” the floral scents I love best.

Hi Tara,

Yay! Glad you like Incense Pure!

I’ve been wavering on the base of BB because I really liked the idea of sandalwood in it, but I’ve found that I prefer a lighter touch with the sandal in this one. Since I’m trying to keep musk to a minimum, I’ve been working on a base with tonka, vanilla, vetiver, oakmoss, some ambergris, and recently I’ve been liking a little touch of leather. I hope to get back to it tomorrow. I agree, the white florals need something to ground them without going too sweet, and notes like vetiver and moss seem to help.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Laurie,

Just received my sample of Incense Pure…so very much worth waiting for! I like it even better than the original!

Thanks again,

Sheryl

PS – do you have the new bottles from Europe yet?

Hi Sheryl,

So glad you like it! I like it better than the previous Encens Tranquille too. It seems smoother and prettier to me, and the new cistus adds a yummy note to the drydown. It still opens a little rough from the high frankincense so I hope people will give it a few minutes to settle down — the drydown is the best part to me.

Thanks so much for feedback!

I just received notice today that the bottles arrived at the port yesterday afternoon and my customs broker is processing the paperwork for me. I’ll have them within a week now. Can’t wait! It’ll be a while before they are on the site though. I need to test the little machine that puts the caps on to make sure that process works well, and then I need to make a bottle of each scent and photograph them for the website. I’ll post some pics on the blog as soon as I can though so that people considering 1 oz bottles can decide whether to wait for the new style or not.

Okay – Now I’m starting to tap my toe as I’m waiting for you to decide on the BB mod(s) to send out – just so I get to try this new EP! Congratulations, Laurie – sounds like a real success.
Also noticed that you’ve had a chance to set your gravitar – most appropriate, IMHO.

Hi Ann! I actually just mailed your IP two days ago w/out the BB because I just haven’t had time to get back to BB since the IP release. I’ve had lots of orders for the new incense, which is great. I’ll get back to BB asap and meantime you’ll have an IP to sniff soon. 🙂 I appreciate your testing earlier versions of the incense and hope you like the final one!

I just learned how to set the gravatar, lol. All these little tricks to learn for blogs!

Oops! (Blushes deep red…. Thanks!)
I would reset my gravatar except I really like that cameo rose color the WordPress random generator set me up with. Matches my skin tone, LoL!

I know you were just teasing me, lol. I was feeling badly though because every day I thought I’d have that BB the next day and finally had to admit to myself it’ll be a few more days. I know just what I want to try next when I have a moment.

My part-time helper has been unavailable the last few days but I hope she’ll be back tomorrow. I’ve been flying solo and just keeping up with orders but nothing else.

That *is* a nice cameo rose color! I love those shades too.
