Update/Checking In

written by Laurie September 5, 2013

I’m still on break but wanted to check in. My left arm is not back into action yet. That will teach me not to try to get large items down from over my head in the supply closet… I do feel progress, but it’s slow.

I needed a lightweight laptop and a back-up to my old Dell, so I recently got a Macbook Pro. This is my first Mac, and I’m having fun with it. Light enough to carry with my right hand, and small enough to use in my lap. I got it a week before this arm injury, and it has been really wonderful right now.

I loved this post today on Bois de Jasmin about trying new scents and savoring fragrance. I relate to everything Victoria wrote.

Fellow artisan perfumer Ayala of Ayala Moriel Perfumes wrote a review of Cocoa Sandalwood recently. Thanks, Ayala! I don’t have as much experience with all-natural formulas as you do, so I very much respect your thoughts 🙂

Fall is just around the corner here. We’re having our late summer heat, but it’s not the kind of killer heat that comes in midsummer. I have tomatoes on the vine, and the last of the lettuce. I love fall, but it’s bittersweet for me because it means summer is gone for another year, and summer is my favorite season.

Fall is making its steps further into Poland as well. The leaves are slowly turning red and yellow and rowan berries are already red.
You take care and I hope your arm will be fine soon.

Fall probably comes much more quickly there in Poland. I’ll have to google rowan berries… 🙂

The leaves are starting to turn here as well but I love fall so I’m okay with that. I hope your arm feels better soon. Remember when you were a kid and if you hurt something it was fine in a day or two? I do. The older I get the longer it takes to work out the kinks. It’s so frustrating. Take it easy and don’t rush things.

Yes! If only we could have our kid healing abilities in our adult bodies! Maybe someday they’ll figure out that trick. Thanks, poodle.

So sorry to hear about your arm; hope you’re taking it easy on yourself and feeling well soon!

It’s been fairly mild around here this summer–not too many triple digit days in the Central Valley (though I see a couple in our forecast for early next week, SIGH), but I confess, I’m an Autumn lover and I’m looking forward to the cooler days. I’ll be wearing lots of Vintage Rose/Rose Volupte when the season changes; right now I have Fig Tree and Jour Ensoleille on heavy duty in my perfume wardrobe 😉

My first computer as a kid was a Mac, and I have been hooked ever since. Now I have a MacBook Air–and an iPad Mini LOL. Glad you are enjoying yours!

Thanks, Lizzy! I love Sept/Oct here, and I enjoy the holiday cheer in Nov/Dec, but I don’t like the rainy/gloomy Jan-March. It’s been a mild, beautiful summer this year here too for the most part.

I debated between the Air and the Pro, but I got the smaller screen Pro and it was only a tiny bit heavier than the Air. They’re both awesome little machines. And I like the Mac OS so far, though I have lots more to learn. I found out I have an Apple store nearby, and once I went in to look I was doomed! 🙂

I hope your arm is soon feeling better and you are able to do what you want to do; so frustrating, waiting to heal! I love the fall here in the midwest. Every year in the middle of August, you will see a maple branch here & there that’s turned color and think, “oh no, fall will never last through October!” and every year, it does 🙂 I “discovered” Jour Ensoleillé in June and it’s been my enjoyable companion all summer. Time now for Incense Pure 🙂

I know what you mean! We get a few of those early fall signs too. Glad you’ve enjoyed JE!

All those injuries take time to heal, so do not rush. I hope it gets better day by day.

It feels like now we have a warmer weather than we had during this summer and I enjoy it. But I’m in a better position: not only I don’t like summer much but also the Fall/Winter holiday season is my favorite time of the year.

Enjoy the weather, eat tomatoes, play withyour new toy and don’t worry about everything else.

Thanks, Julia. That’s the plan for a couple weeks! 🙂
